My complete checklist for your at-home session
Get ready for a fun, candid, in home session right from the comforts of your home. Let me help you prepare and answer the most common questions. (Don't forget your pets!)
First and foremost...
I am there to help make it the best possible time for everyone involved.
Things to do before your session
Make sure you do all the things to look your best. This is a given. If you want everyone's hair to look well groomed and that everyone feels their best, make sure to make those hair appointments to make sure everyone is looking sharp.
Get enough sleep! especially if you have little ones involved, make sure everyone gets a good night's sleep the night before so everyone bright eyed and bushy tailed :)
If the session is at home, make sure you have rooms set aside you would like photos in and that you have your blinds drawn back. I recommend this over having lights on in your house. I LOVE natural light so the more we can work with the better.
Think of any props or mementos you'd like to include. I love when clients include things to make your photos more memorable for you.
If you have a pet and want them involved in the photos, please do! I love adding them in because they are family too!
Being comfortable is key! Keep that in mind.
How to plan outfits or what to wear
As I said in the last column, BE COMFY! Still plan out outfits to match as much as you like, but also plan what you wear to be as comfy as possible. Most of the time I show up at your house and I immediately take my shoes off. I do this out of respect, but I also get comfortable myself.
I recommend not to wear stripes or dotted printed anything. These patterns can really clash with things around you, but also reaaaaaally distort the image.
I recommend light or beige colors, also earthy muted colors. They pop well with my edit style, but personally I think they just make you look good!
You can always reach out for my opinion on what you're planning and I can help you decide!
